Why hire a Chartered Professional Accountant?

I have heard that a CPA is as a Doctor is for the Body, the CPA is for a Business. Now I know, not everyone sees their family Doctor daily, monthly, quarterly or even at best annually. But imagine, you decide to get blood work and find out your A1C (6 month fasting sugar glucose test) is above 6.5. Now I know you are thinking why the depth on the A1C. The relevance is sometimes the things that we have symptoms for, we cannot self diagnose. To continue with the A1C test, before the blood work, you have lost a lot of weight, you recently started to notice your vision is coming and going more recently to the point you cannot read your phone, you are wearing glasses now and your eyes seem tired, you seem to be physically tired, you have gone to see a Urologist recently and lastly your thinking why am I starting to fall apart at 45 years old. Guess what, these things you are going through is extreme type 2 diabetes. Yes I say extreme, your test comes back, A1C was at 12.4. Diabetic is 6.5. All the signs I listed are related to your body screaming something is wrong. I know having someone tell you, you need drugs, you need to fix this problem, is not an easy thing to hear or accept. We can all agree, this is critical to having a healthy life, some of us, cannot eat cake every day, some cannot eat rice everyday. We must accept this to live a good and long life. Seeing the Doctor and getting blood work is similar to seeing a CPA on a regular basis and having them read your financial statements to offer insight into your operations. They can look at your baselines (Gross Margin Year over Year), your ending bank balances each year, your inventory turnover, customer concentration, and purchase discounts and volumes. Some industries are more susceptible to market, environmental, globalism, interest rates, and other risks (think diabetes). CPA’s want to help you achieve your goals, so when hire one, remember, they want to meet you where you are at in Business, what your goals are going to be and how you see yourself getting there. As with a Medical Doctor, they cannot make you take the Drugs you need, they can only recommend and ask you do it, even if it is in your best interest.
